Girl in pieces was such a fantastic read. Kathleen Glasgow debut book Girl in Pieces will leave you in pieces it has so much heartbreak, sadness and love. Do not worry you will get your pieces put back together at the end. It has some serious heavy subject for a young adult book but I want people to read this book, I think it definitely has a strong message to people. I enjoyed this book immensely and I know you will too. Girl in pieces is a heavy book that deals with mental illness and addiction. Some parts were hard to read but it deals with realism and a lot of people go through this.

Girl in pieces is about a girl named Charlie who is totally lost in the world and lived such a terrible life at such a young age and the only way to get by is to self harm. She cuts herself but she does not want to die. She wants pain. Charlie lost everything and everyone, she lost her dad, her mother abandoned her. Charlie lived in the streets and then to a terrible place know as Seed House.

We start with Charlie in a psych ward or I think that is what it is called, anyways she is there because her friends took her there after something horrible happened. She does not speak or anything and the doctors are trying to get through to her. Later on in the story they give her the leave and she is upset because she will have to go with her mother, her mother takes her and then leaves her. She stays with a friend who told her she can stay with her all the way in Arizona and that is when trouble starts again. She meet Riley the bad boy who is absolutely no good for her she falls for him and things take a turn. She starts doing things that she shouldn’t be doing and getting into trouble.

Girl in pieces is a young adult book that will leaving you wanting more. The book was amazing and such a page turner. I hope you get to read it and if so happy reading !
